Empowering Music Practice for Kids

Experienced Music Students helping young beginners with practice sessions online.

Empowering Young Musicians

Music Pals connects young and beginner-level musicians with experienced high school and college volunteers who serve as practice mentors. Through consistent, supportive sessions, we help students build strong practice habits, develop confidence in their playing, and foster a lifelong appreciation for music.

🎵 About Music Pals

Hi! I'm Giovanna Chui, the founder of Music Pals and a music student who’s been surrounded by music for as long as I can remember. From piano lessons to vocal training to teaching young beginners, music has always been a part of how I connect with the world—and with others.

I created Music Pals because I saw a need: many young students love music, but practicing on their own can feel frustrating, unmotivating, or lonely. At the same time, there are so many high school and college musicians who want to give back, but don’t always have a clear way to help. Music Pals bridges that gap by connecting beginner students with experienced student mentors for one-on-one virtual practice support.

What started as a small idea during one of my own teaching sessions quickly turned into a passion project—one that combines my love of music, leadership, and service. Along the way, I’ve learned just how powerful peer-to-peer support can be. It’s not just about getting better at an instrument—it’s about feeling seen, encouraged, and inspired.

Whether you’re a young beginner looking for extra support or a student musician ready to give back, Music Pals is here to help you grow through music and community.
